Limited edition of EIGHT prints on archival-quality buff paper.

The stone was only prepped up to #100 carborundum grit instead of #200, to give the final print a more weathered look. Background was done with a wet litho-crayon and a few serial dilutions of water/ink mixture.

“Your body is not yours. Your mind is not yours. Every euphorically joyful memory, every unforgettable moment of suffering and regret, every fundamental piece of your reality has been created for ‘you’; the center of the universe.
Even with the vast reality before you and the others that exist within it… you are, and always will be alone.”

“The path of introspection is not always a benevolent one; face your demons head on lest they burn you alive.”

“Look again at that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every “superstar,” every “supreme leader,” every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there-on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.”

There’s a place up in the sky, you can visit if you’re high.
Or if your clock has made it’s final round.
It feels good, it feels free,
to be outside of me.
For a moment, at the least.
I thought I’d stop by to see you, but off course you’re somewhere else.
I guess I’ll float back down to earth all by myself.

A Veces Duerme a la Manana

Acrylic on 16″ x 20″ canvas.

Sometimes I sleep in the morning.
Sometimes the thoughts come out to play.
Sometimes I catch them in my mind, but more often lost in the fray.

(There Must be More Than This)
©2021 Jon Bray

Charcoal on 16″ x 20″ canvas.

The no man’s land between sex and love.
Coping mechanisms or something real, something beautiful regardless.
And often we fall asleep in a state of bliss, sure that the meaning was pure.
Only to awaken and find there really is nothing pure, nothing real.
How many warm bodies?
How many disingenuous words?
Before I find the muse whos laugh cracks my heart open?
Whos smile is the picture of a thousand words?
When you least expect it…
Yes, yes, yes…
Then I will expect no more.
